THE DEBUT OF AN ALL NEW
NEAL & PARKS CHASSIS
Dennis LaCharite Construction Inc. 2501 W 237th Street Unit B, Torrance, CA 90505
Dennis LaCharite and crew debuted their new Neal &
Parks chassis in the familiar Back in Black 1969 GTO
nitro Funny Car at the 2009 March Meet. After
struggling with the GTO for sometime the team was
elated with their 5th place “Silver” Field qualifying
position running a 6.108 at 238.15 mph to edge out 16
other nitro Funny Car competitors. Sunday’s
eliminations also proved an energy boost for the team as
they took out the Bomb Squad with the “Silver” field
low ET of the Meet at 5.956 at 240 mph. As the team
thrashed in the pits to make the semi final call event
spectators crowded around to purchase t-shirts and
cheer the only GTO in the class on to an event victory.

In the semi finals Dennis did his job at the line with a .
065 reaction time only to be defeated down track by the
eventual “Silver” field winner Mike Halstead in the Nitro
Charger Daytona. Enthusiastically the team reported
they would be running in Sacramento at Funny Car
Fever to take advantage of new momentum. Dennis
shared, “We love our new Neal & Parks chassis and
cannot thank the Parks enough. We will keep sorting
her out and make this car a contender.”

Sacramento proved challenging for all teams and the
GTO was no exception. The Back in Black team faced
the Bomb Squad again but wasn’t able to make it down
the left lane for a second victory over McCain’s team.
The day’s quickest passes in the lane were the Mill
Road Boys Camaro with a 6.24 and Back in Black with
a 6.29. Unfortunately the Back in Black team was heads
up with the number one qualifier and lane choice was
critical.

Diligence pays off and the GTO crew is un-relentless in
their pursuit of perfection. The team is heading to Las
Vegas, NV for some exhibition passes a.k.a. test and
tune at the Speed Spectacular. Check back soon as we
will have the latest results on the Back in Black’s march
to the top.
